Man dies after being found lying on A477 near Wisemans Bridge

A man has died after being found lying on the A477 in Pembrokeshire early on Monday morning.

Dyfed Powys Police were called to the A477 near Wisemans Bridge at around 5.50am following a report of a man lying on the carriageway.

Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. They said his death is not being treated as suspicious.

The road was closed for three hours between the turnoff for Red Roses and the roundabout at Kilgetty.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to the A477 near Wisemans Bridge at around 5.50am today, following a report of a man lying on the carriageway.

"Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Our thoughts are with his family at this time."

A spokeswoman for the Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to the scene.

She said: "We were called at approximately 6am this morning to an incident on the A477 in Pembrokeshire.

"We sent an emergency ambulance to the scene, where the crew were also supported by a clinical team leader."

The A477 was upgraded in 2014 with a new route built between St Clears and Red Roses.
