Medics attended but the man, who has not yet been publicly identified, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A heavy police presence remains in the area while a large cordon has been put in place around the wooded path.

Local reports suggest a forensic tent has also been erected at a nearby block of flats while one resident heard 'screaming' around the time of the grim discovery.

Police Scotland confirmed they are currently treating the death as ‘unexplained’.

A force spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Boblingen Way, Glenrothers around 1.40am on Saturday 17 July to reports a man was injured in the street.

“He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is being treated as unexplained, and enquiries are ongoing.”
