Man dies after Audi crashes into HGV and house in horror smash

A man has died following a horror crash with a HGV in Cheshire.

The man was driving a grey Audi on the A556, in Tabley, towards Manchester, when it was involved in a collision with a HGV travelling in the opposite direction.

A house at the side of the road was also damaged after the HGV struck it.

The driver of the Audi was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cheshire Police said the man has not been formally identified, but he is believed to be a 56-year-old man from Sandbach.

His next of kin have been informed.

The 53-year-old driver of the HGV, from Kirkbride, suffered from minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Nobody inside the house was injured.

Cheshire Police are investigating and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with any information that may assist the investigation, is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting IML 605662 or visit cheshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/
