Victorian homicide squad detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Melbourne's southeast.
Police were called to an apartment complex on St Georges Avenue in Bentley East around 2am on Saturday, following reports alleging a stabbing.
Investigators have been told two men attended the property and entered an underground car park.
The pair was confronted by two residents of the complex and a struggle ensued.
One of the men suffered life-threatening injuries and later died in hospital while the other man ran off, police say.
The second man was located and was assisting detectives with their inquiries.
The two residents of the complex were taken into in custody and were also being interviewed.
