Man dies accidentally after being hit by bricks during monkeys' fight in Andhra Pradesh

TIRUPATI: A 45-year-old man was killed in a bizarre incident during a monkeys' quarrel at Velugodu mandal headquarters in Nandyal district on Saturday.

According to Velugodu SI Jagan Mohan, Md Rafi (45), a resident of Gandhi Nagar locality in Velugodu mandal was taking a stroll near his home when cement bricks suddenly came crashing on his head from the balcony of a nearby house where two monkeys were seen engaged in a fight on Saturday.

Before he could realize what just happened, Md Rafi who sustained a severe head injury lost his consciousness and collapsed on the road.

Passersby who were present there alerted the local police and rushed Md Rafi to the government hospital but the victim died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Eye-witnesses told the police that cement bricks stacked up at the edge of the balcony of a house at the Gandhi Nagar locality were accidentally moved by the quarrelling monkeys, which crashed into Md Rafi's head accidentally, leading to his untimely death.

Velugodu police registered a case and are further investigating.
