A 50-year-old man died in a blaze at a house in Banffshire last night.
The tragic discovery was made by firefighters , who raced to the scene at Redwell Cottages, Whitehills, shortly after 6.30pm.
Police have launched an investigation into the tragedy and the family have been informed.

Detective Inspector Michael McKenzie said: "A joint investigation will be carried out with the Fire Service to establish the cause of the fire but at this stage there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
"As with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
