Man denies abuse towards partner

A 38-year-old man has denied engaging in a five-month long course of abusive behaviour towards his partner - or ex-partner.

Neil Anderson, formerly of Causewayend, Coupar Angus, is said to have accused Lynsey Gallacher of being unfaithful and demanded to know where she was “at all times.”

It is also claimed he repeatedly followed her, checked her mobile phone, controlled what she wore and what she drank.

The charge further alleges he undermined her skills as a mother and housewife.

The incidents are said to have taken place at the house in Causewayend between April 1 and September 22, 2019.

He is further accused of repeatedly shouting and swearing and verbally abusing her.

A second charge, also denied, states that on September 22, at the Causewayend property, he forcibly ejected Ms Gallacher from her home and locked her outside while a child was inside, becoming increasingly upset.

He is then said to have later returned to the flat, demanded entry, attempted to open doors and windows and thereafter kicked a door.

Anderson, who was represented by Perth lawyer Billy Somerville, will return to Perth Sheriff Court for trial on December 3, 2019.

An earlier hearing was scheduled for November 21.

The accused was bailed to an address in Apply Yard, Newburgh, after appearing from custody this week.
