Man deliberately struck by car in attempted murder bid in Glasgow

A man is in hospital after he was deliberately ran over in an attempted murder bid in Glasgow.

Police say the man was 'struck at speed' by a grey estate car on Hartstone Road, in the Priesthill area, following a disturbance on Thursday afternoon.

The 28-year-old suffered serious injuries in the 'deliberate' attack.

He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment where he remains in a stable condition.

Detective Sergeant Steven Slater of Govan CID said: “This was reckless and dangerous behaviour which will not be tolerated in our community. Enquiries are ongoing and we are working to establish the circumstances leading up to this incident.

“There would have been a number of people in the area around the time and we are keen to talk to anyone who may have seen anything. We are also keen to chat to anyone that may have dashcam footage of the incident.”
