Man dead in Woodlawn shooting: police

A man was fatally shot Aug. 27, 2020, in the 6100 block of South Evans Avenue. | Google Maps

A 39-year-old man was shot to death Thursday in Woodlawn on the South Side, according to police.

He was in the 6100 block of South Evans Avenue at 12:20 p.m. when shots rang out, Chicago police said.

The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he died, police said.

His name has not been released by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

No arrest has been made.
