Man dead, another injured after being hit by car during Melbourne brawl

The homicide squad is now investigating the incident.

A man has killed and another is in a critical condition after they were hit by a car and bashed during a fight on a suburban street in Melbourne's west.

Police said a fight erupted between two groups of men on Castley Crescent, Braybrook, around 9:30pm on Saturday.

During the brawl two men were struck by a silver hatchback and then assaulted by those inside the car.

The offenders then fled the scene.

The injured men were taken to hospital but one of them — a 40-year-old man from Braybrook — later died.

The other 44-year-old man, also from Braybrook, has life-threatening injuries, police said.

Homicide squad detectives are investigating and have urged anyone with information to contact them.
