A man has died after a fatal attack in Erskine on New Year's Day.
Emergency services rushed to the Park Drive area of the town having been alerted to an assault shortly before 1pm, however the man died at the scene.
Police have locked down the area with streets remaining cordoned off this evening, as an investigation is launched into the death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 12.55pm on Friday, 1 January, 2020, to a report of a man being assaulted in the Park Drive area of Erskine.
"He sadly died at the scene.
"Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances of what happened."
