Man dead after crash on Hume Highway

A man is dead after his ute left the Hume Highway and crashed into trees at Sutton Forest, police say.

NSW police said a person driving north saw the Mazda ute on the media strip about 9.10pm Saturday.

"The male driver was declared deceased at the scene and is yet to be formally identified," police said in a statement.

"Officers from The Hume Police District attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police."

Police investigating the crash ask anyone with information or dashcam footage that could help to contact Southern Highlands Police Station on (02) 4869 7899 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
