Man dead after car crashes into wall on Co Meath road

A man in his 60s has reportedly been killed in a road crash in Co Meath.

The collision happened in the townland of Mandistown, Drumconrath, in Navan, at around 6.40pm on Sunday evening.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and was alone in the car at the time of the crash, reported Rte.

His body was taken to the mortuary at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan, where a post-mortem examination will take place.

The road remained closed last night while forensic examinations were carried out, and local diversions were in place.

Gardai are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have been travelling through the area at the time and have camera footage to come forward.
