Man cut from car after horror crash as emergency services scramble to scene

Emergency services were trying to cut a man from his car following a horror crash on a Scots road this afternoon.

Police, fire crews and medics scrambled to the A92 near the Carnoustie turn off in Angus after the accident happened at around 12.05pm on Sunday, June 27.

Eye witness reports suggest it was a one vehicle crash and the car ended up flipping onto its roof.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent three appliances to the scene and fighters were using cutting equipment to free the person trapped in their vehicle.

The road is currently closed and diversions are being put in place.

The condition of the injured man is not yet known.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12 noon, on Sunday 27 June 2021, police received a report of a one vehicle road crash on the A92 near the Carnoustie turn off.

"Emergency services are in attendance and one man has been injured.

"The road is currently closed with diversions being put in place.

"We have no further information at this stage."
