One person was able to free themselves before fire crews arrived, while another person had to be cut free.

A spokesman for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 11.37am, crews from Carmarthen attended a road traffic collision, involving two vehicles, on the A40 near Abergwili, Carmarthen.

“One casualty was released from a vehicle before the arrival of the fire service and a second casualty was released by firefighters. One casualty was taken to hospital by the Welsh Ambulance Service. Small gear, a first aid pack and absorbent granules were used at the incident.

"We left the incident at 2.05pm.”
