A man has died just days before Christmas after he was crushed to death when a crane lost its load at a building site.
Paramedics, police and firefighters rushed to the scene near Old Street in east London shortly after 1.20pm following reports of an emergency incident.
A man had been struck by a falling object, police said, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said an ambulance crew was dispatched to the scene, as well as a medic in a car, a clinical team leader, an incident response officer, and members of the hazardous area response team.

The Metropolitan Police have erected a cordon around the area, according to My London reports.
