A man is in a 'serious condition' in hospital after a van he was working under crushed him when it moved and collided with another vehicle.
Emergency crews raced to Ferry Road, Montrose yesterday around 4.10pm to try and rescue the 43-year-old.
He had been working on the vehicle at the time when it is understood to have moved and hit a car, leaving the man trapped underneath.
Paramedics rushed him to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where he is said to be in a 'serious but stable condition'.
Fire crews were also called to help with the operation in the Angus town yesterday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.10 pm on Thursday, 22 April, 2021, police and emergency services were called after a 43-year-old man was seriously injured when a van he was working under on Ferry Road, Montrose, appears to have moved and collided with another car trapping him underneath the van.
"He was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
