Man critically wounded in West Town shooting

A 33-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting Saturday in West Town on the Near West Side.

About 10:35 a.m., he was walking in the 3100 block of West Fulton Street, when someone ran up behind him and fired shots, striking him in the spine and hip, Chicago police said.

He was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

A weapon was found at the scene, but it is not believed to be the one used in the shooting, police said.
