Man critically injured in Englewood hit-and-run: police

A 59-year-old man was critically injured when he was hit by a vehicle Saturday in Englewood on the South Side.

He was struck by a southbound white sedan about 10:25 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Ashland Avenue, Chicago police said. The man was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

The sedan did not stop and left the area after hitting him, police said.

The Chicago police Major Accidents Unit and Area South detectives are investigating.
