Man critical and two others seriously injured after car drops into ditch in Cork

A man is in a critical condition and two others were seriously injured after a car dropped into a ditch this evening.

Gardai are investigating the single-vehicle crash, which happened in Trafrask, Adrigole, Co Cork at around 6.10pm on Thursday.

A car left the road and fell into a ditch at that location.

Three men, all in their mid 30s, were seriously injured - one is now in a critical condition.

Two of the men were airlifted to Cork University Hospital and the third man was taken by ambulance to the same hospital.

A Garda forensic team is currently en route to the scene and at this time the road remains open, gardai said.

The road will be closed tonight for a short time for an examination of the scene.

Gardai at Bantry are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the road from 5.30pm to 6.10pm, or anyone who was in the area this evening and may have witnessed the collision, particularly any road users with dash cam footage, to contact Bantry Garda Station on 027 20860, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
