A man is in a critical condition after suffering burns to several parts of his body during a gas explosion at a shopping centre in Sydney's inner-west.
Emergency services were called to Ashfield Mall on Liverpool Road at about 5:00pm, after reports a man had been severely injured in a gas explosion.
Police say they were told a machine exploded and the man suffered burns to his face, arms and legs .
The man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital.
The shopping centre was evacuated as a precaution by Fire and Rescue NSW.
Officers from Burwood Police Area Command are investigating the incident.
