Man critical after receiving electrical shock in Adelaide beauty parlour

A man has been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition after sustaining an electric shock in Adelaide's inner south about 3:00pm.

Emergency services say the 25-year-old was in the roof space of a King William Road, Goodwood, beauty parlour when he was shocked.

The Metropolitan Fire Service used an appliance with a crane to get the unconscious electrician out.

SA Police and SafeWork SA are investigating.

King William Road was closed to traffic in both directions for about an hour.
