Man creates hilarious illusion to liven-up video meetings while working from home

Many workers have already experienced the pitfalls of attempting video call meetings while working from home.

One was left mortified after taking her laptop to the toilet with her and inadvertently exposing herself to 10 colleagues - before quickly snapping the laptop shut when she realised her mistake.

Another, a news reporter, tried to present a piece to camera from the safety of her own kitchen, only for her topless dad to walk into the background before being yelled at.

So rather than run the risk of being left red-faced, many are choosing the option some video calling apps come with to pick a background from one of your own photos.

But others, who are far better with technology than we will ever be, have taken it one step further.

Video producer Dan Crown tweeted a video showing of his unique creation as he gave an update about his new work projects on camera - which has since had more than four million views.

As he talks through his ideas, the door behind him opens as Dan himself walks in, realises he is interrupting and makes a quick exit.

Dan captioned the clip: "Today I made a Zoom background of myself accidentally walking in on myself in a Zoom meeting."

It's had more than 435,000 likes, as one person replied: "This is the best thing to come out of this quarantine."

Another said: "This is modern art."

A third cruelly added a comment to give us all even more of a headache, saying: "Dan, I think it is most impressive that people think the live version of you is the guy at the front."

It turns out he's not the only one to have mastered the trick, with another showing his own effort which sees his head slowly pop-up in different corners of the screen looking very confused.
