
A Tighes Hill man will face court after he allegedly sped away from police and crashed a car into a parked vehicle in Newcastle in the early hours of Wednesday.
Police said officers tried to pull over a Toyota Camry on Dawson Street at Cooks Hill about 1.30am because the 24-year-old was allegedly driving in a dangerous manner.

But the car allegedly sped away from police before it hit a parked vehicle and a residential fence near Parkway Avenue.
Police said the driver then fled on foot, but was chased down after about 300m and arrested a short time later.
The man was charged with drive manner dangerous and police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly and will face court next month.
