A man who was covered in blood calmly walked into a shop to ask for a tissue after being slashed across the face.
The man, who is believed to be in his 20s, walked into Broadway Mini Market in Norris Green at 4.35pm on Wednesday, September 21, asking for help from staff inside. CCTV seen by The ECHO showed the man, who was wearing a black puffer jacket covered in blood, calmly walked into the shop and asked for a tissue before sitting down on the pavement between the convenience store and Shiraz Barbers.
Eyewitnesses said when the man took his hand away from the right side of his face to place kitchen roll on it, a puddle of blood landed onto the concrete floor below him. Police arrived a short time later, followed by an ambulance around 40 minutes after.

It was later reported the man was slashed across the face in the Norris Green area before asking for help on Broadway. The man was taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
One of the workers who ran to the man's aid said he had "never seen anything like it" in his 10 years working in the area.
He added: "He was holding his face with one hand and a phone in the other, just sat on the floor. I don't know who he was on the phone to but he was on it the whole time.
"I know this area isn't great, but I've never seen anything like it. It [the slashing] can't have happened far away from here as there would have been a huge trail of blood.
"A few people came out to see him and stay with him to make sure he was okay until the ambulance came."
Another shop worker said the wound on the man's face was around two inches long and an inch wide. Merseyside Police are now working to find out where the slashing incident took place.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "We are investigating following reports a man was assaulted in the Norris Green area this afternoon. We were contacted at 4.35pm following reports the man, in his 20s, had been found on Broadway with a slash injury to his face.
"He has been taken to hospital for treatment for his injury which is not believed to be life threatening. An investigation is underway and enquiries are ongoing to establish where the incident took place and witnesses spoken to."
