Man convicted of sexual assault who escaped from prison found by police

Police have thanked the public for their help after a man convicted of sexual assault who absconded from prison was located.

Ian Naylor, age 37, was serving a sentence in HMP Leyhill, located north of Bristol towards Gloucester.

Avon and Somerset Police warned the public to not approach Naylor and are asking the public to call 999 if you see him, or 101 with any information on his whereabouts.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: "We're asking the public to call us if they see lan Naylor who has absconded from HMP Leyhill.

"Naylor, 37, was serving a sentence for sexual assault."

An update issued late on Monday evening (December 13) thanked people for sharing the appeal and calling in with information, confirming Naylor had been located.
