A boyfriend has been found guilty of killing his partner at their home in south east London.

Ricky Woodford, 42, was convicted of manslaughter diminished responsibility of his girlfriend Sarah Smith, 39.

He appeared at the Old Bailey on Monday and he has been remanded in custody until he is sentenced at the central London court on November 11.

Police were called to Woodford’s address in Greenwich, shortly before 10.30am on the eve of Halloween last year over welfare concerns for those inside.

Officers found Ms Smith’s body and Woodford was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

A post-mortem examination revealed Ms Smith died from multiple head injuries.

DI Karen Bangs said: “Our thoughts remain with Sarah’s family, who continue to mourn her untimely loss and will do so for a very long time to come.”
