A MAN has been confirmed dead at a street in Glasgow after police taped it off yesterday afternoon.
Officers attended Burgher Street in Parkhead around 3pm on Friday, July 24 having received reports of a man seriously injured in a shared close.
The 44-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, with officials treating the death as unexplained.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3pm on Friday, 24 July, 2026, we received a report of a man found with serious injuries within a common close on Burgher Street in Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended, but the man, aged 44, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries remain ongoing.
“Officers remain in attendance and anyone with concerns or information is encouraged to approach them.
“Alternatively, you can call 101, quoting incident number 2067 of 24 July, 2026.”
The Glasgow Times previously reported that residents were prevented from entering or exiting nearby properties immediately following the incident before forensics arrived at the scene around 7.30pm.
