Man claims woman threatened to 'burn him alive' on notorious housing estate

A man claimed a woman threatened to burn him alive in his own home on a notorious estate.

Khaled Baleid said he fears for his own safety after claiming he was racially abused outside his home on Primrose Court in Huyton on Sunday, June 25. The incident unfolded after Khaled was approached by a woman who reportedly started shouting and screaming at him.

The 59-year-old told the ECHO: "She said go back to your own country.' She said she was going to burn me alive if I don't leave the country immediately.

"She said 'get out of this country, I'm going to burn you alive in your house.' She was serious and very crazy. I have no country to go to, my country has got war."

Merseyside Police confirmed it was reported that Khaled was outside an address on Primrose Court when he was approached by a woman who threw stones at him, shouted racial abuse and made threats.

A 33-year-old woman on suspicion of racially/religious aggravated common assault/beating, racially/religious aggravated intentional harassment/alarm/distress – words/writing and threats to kill. She was taken into custody for questioning.

Detectives are also investigating a second incident which took place on Primrose Court at around 1.20am this morning, Tuesday, June 27. The incident involved two balaclava-clad males dressed in dark clothing, who threw bricks at Khaled's car and home, smashing the windows.

Merseyside Police said officers attended and carried out a search of the area. Enquiries are ongoing, including examining CCTV footage to find the suspects, and detectives are appealing for anyone with any information to contact police.

The ECHO has previously reported on the issues facing Primrose Court, where many of the houses lie empty and abandoned. The housing estate has been plagued by a spate of crime, serious violence and anti-social behaviour in recent years.

A TikTok of the derelict housing estate went viral in January last year and was viewed more than five million times in 24 hours.

Detective Inspector Yoseph Al-Ramadan said: “We are taking both incidences very seriously as no one should be subjected to, or tolerate, such abhorrent behaviour. Everyone, no matter what their background or religious beliefs, should not be threatened or targeted in this manner.

“Please be rest-assured that our enquiries continue to find the suspects who caused such mindless criminal damage, and officers are patrolling the area. With this, I am appealing for anyone who witnessed or has information which can help with our investigation in to both incidents to please contact us.”
