Man claims trick to making the 'perfect toastie' is to put cheese on the outside

A man on TikTok claims he has found the number one hack to making the "perfect toastie" - and fans absolutely love it.

It's no secret there are many variations on how to create the best version of the cheese toastie on the app, as many social media fans have tried and tested their own.

But one user, in particular, is obsessed with his version of the hearty winter snack - and it would appear others are impressed, too.

Scottish cook Toastie King, who has made plenty of variations of the dish - using Greggs sausage rolls, Wotsits and pigs in blankets - rustled up his "perfect toastie" in the kitchen, and the video has since gone viral with over 800k likes.

He revealed his favourite way to make a toastie is to start by adding a thin layer of cheese, which creates a barrier for the bread so it doesn't burn.

He then adds the bread, more cheese, then another slice of bread before toasting (@toastieking/TikTok)

Naming the TikTok video "Toastie Hack #13," he shared the process of how he perfected the delicious snack.

The home cook explains the first step is to add cheese to the bottom of the toastie machine before adding a slice of bread.

It's then time to add your fillings before adding another slice of bread on top.

Toastie King tells followers to let the bread toast for a few minutes, before adding another layer of cheese and letting it cook again for another few minutes.

And the finished result sees a crispy toastie with a gooey, cheesy middle.

Toastie King came up with the genius idea (@toastieking/TikTok)

His fans were obsessed with his inventive way of making the perfect toastie, with many flocking to the comments section.

One person wrote: "Mmmm must try that!"

Another shared: "Best TikTok I've ever seen!"

While a third echoed: "Nice hack!"

But others were left divided by the cleaning that comes with adding cheese to the toastie machine.

"And then spend two weeks trying to clean it off," a person commented.

Another penned: "And never be able to scrape it off."

But the Toastie King revealed another clever hack - explaining as long as the toastie machine wasn't scratched it is easy to come off as the oil from the cheese makes it easy to wipe down.

It seems his idea will be used by many as it circulated on the app.
