Man City youngster Jayden Braaf confirms contract extension on Instagram after promotion to EDS

Manchester City youngster Jayden Braaf has continued his electric start to the season by signing new terms with the club.

Braaf, who turns 17 on Saturday, signed to City's academy last season on his sixteenth birthday, snubbing interest from Chelsea to join the CFA.

The youngster has spent a year adapting to life in England, appearing at U18, U19 and U23 level. He scored twice in City's EFL Trophy win at League One side Rochdale last season at Spotland.

This season, Braaf has been permanently promoted to the U23 squad, scoring three times in as many games in a new-look attack alongside Nabil Touaizi and new signing Morgan Rogers.

Now, the Dutch U17 international has confirmed his new contract at City on his Instagram page, posting an image of himself signing the deal with the caption "2023" to indicate how long he will remain at the CFA.

Under FA rules, players are allowed to sign professional terms when they turn 17, and Braaf will now battle fellow academy forwards Adria Bernabe, Ian Carlo Poveda and Felix Nmecha to hold down his spot for the U23s.

Meanwhile, five academy players have been called up to international duty for September's fixtures. Eric Garcia earns his first call-up to Spain's under-21 squad, while Joel Latibeaudiere and on-loan winger Luke Bolton are in the England U20 squad.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Tommy Doyle are also in the England U19 squad after the pair impressed with City's first team in pre-season.
