Man City youngster Adrian Bernabe stretchered off against Bournemouth

Manchester City youngster Adrian Bernabe has been stretchered off during their Carabao Cup clash with Bournemouth.

The 19-year-old was handed his first start of the season by Pep Guardiola for the third-round tie.

Guardiola mixed experience with youth from the start with Rodrigo, Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez all in from the beginning.

However, there was also a senior debut for Liam Delap, son of former Stoke City man Rory, alongside Phil Foden and Ferran Torres.

Bernabe was named alongside Tommy Smith on the Manchester City bench at Wolves, underlying how highly rated he is at the Etihad Stadium.

However, Bernabe's night came to a sad, premature end with the game tied at 1-1.

Delap had fired City in front before Sam Surridge brought Jason Tindall's side level.

Bernabe was then stretchered off with Benjamin Mendy the man to replace him with a nasty-looking injury.

Guardiola was seen speaking to the youngster as he was taken off in what is a tough blow for the Spaniard.
