Manchester City are without Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden as they begin their latest Premier League title defence at Tottenham today, so £100million signing Jack Grealish starts in north London.
Reigning PFA Player of the Year De Bruyne returned from the facial fractures he suffered in last season’s Champions League final defeat by Chelsea to play for Belgium at the European Championship, only to suffer an ankle ligament tear during the tournament.
Meanwhile, fellow playmaker Foden missed out on England’s Euros final defeat to Italy with a foot injury.
Both players were sidelined for last weekend’s 1-0 Community Shield defeat by Leicester, with Pep Guardiola stating that the duo would be out “for a while”, though De Bruyne likely to return ahead of Foden.
