Man City XI vs Club Brugge: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Champions League today

Pep Guardiola has named a strong Manchester City team against Club Brugge in the Champions League tonight.

Wednesday night’s game comes before a huge derby against Manchester United at the weekend, which would typically see the Spaniard shuffle his pack.

But a precarious Group A, which has City in second and only two points clear of Brugge, has led to Guardiola talking up the need to take the Etihad Stadium clash seriously.

Ilkay Gundogan returns after missing the defeat to Crystal Palace while the likes of John Stones and Riyad Mahrez both earn recalls. Ferran Torres is the only guaranteed absentee.

“With Ilkay, everybody knows how important he is, he's intelligent, clever, always thinking for the team,” said the manager. “He was injured, needs time, he's getting better.

“Tomorrow we have a chance [to win], every year this competition gets more difficult in the group stages. It's just six games, lose more than one or two and you're in real trouble. We already lost in Paris.”

Man City starting XI: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Cancelo, Rodrigo, Gundogan, Bernardo, Mahrez, Foden, Grealish
