John Stones is recovering from ankle injury ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Burnley on Monday, while Eric Garcia will miss the match after suffering concussion on Wednesday night.
Garcia collided heavily with Ederson in the 3-0 win against Arsenal, requiring him to spend a night in hospital before being released.
Stones was left out of the squad entirely, with Guardiola only just revealing the England international is overcoming an ankle problem, suffered in training.
Guardiola said: “After the second or third training session, he had problem in his ankle and he was not available. He is in the last part of his recovery.”
On Garcia he added: “You know the rule in the Premier League when it’s comes to concussions. It has to be one week or 10 days.
“We saw him after the training session and he has a bit of damage to the face. He left the hospital and feels quite good. We are happy he’s back and hopefully in one week or 10 days he’ll be ready.”
Fernandinho or Nicolas Otamendi are now likely to play alongside Aymeric Laporte against Burnley.
Guardiola revealed Leroy Sane has told the club he wants to leave amid interest from Bayern Munich and Guardiola proved the German would not be allowed to walk straight back into the team after a knee ligament injury by leaving him as an unused sub against Arsenal.
“Sane was a long time out,” he said. “He’s training without pain. We’ll make a decisions.
“I decide in the moment, the way he’s training – Bernardo (Silva), (Phil) Foden trains well. They did incredible and were not selected.
“I’m going to try to move the team. Some will play more than others and we’ll take a decision.”
Guardiola also confirmed Claudio Bravo will sign a short term extension to see out the season, with the goalkeeper a free agent from the end of the month.
But the Chile international is currently sidelined with a back problem.
