John Stones and Nicolas Otamendi get a chance to stake their claim for a place in the FA Cup semi-final when Manchester City face Bournemouth this evening.
With Champions League qualification already secured, Pep Guardiola has shuffled his squad in City’s remaining Premier League fixtures.
Both Stones and Otamendi have been pushed down the pecking order this season by Fernandinho and Eric Garcia.
But Guardiola has chosen to rest Aymeric Laporte ahead of Saturday’s Wembley clash with Arsenal – giving both the chance to impress.
Bernardo Silva has also had limited playing time of late, with Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden impressing.
He, too, could force his way into Guardiola’s FA Cup plans.
