Raheem Sterling says he 'silenced the haters' in England's win in Montenegro, that has been marred by allegations of racist abuse.
Sterling scored England's fifth goal in a 5-1 win, and celebrated by cupping his ears to the Montenegro fans.
England manager Gareth Southgate said after the game that he 'definitely' heard racist abuse to full-back Danny Rose, while winger Callum Hudson-Odoi told reporters monkey chants were aimed and him and Rose by Montenegro fans.
Southgate said: "I definitely heard abuse of Danny Rose when he got booked at the end of the game. There's no doubt in my mind that happened" Southgate told reporters.
"We'll make sure that's reported officially. It's not acceptable."
Southgate wasn't drawn on the reasons for Sterling's celebration, saying he was yet to speak to the Manchester City man and did not want to speculate.
However, Sterling later posted on Instagram, telling 'racists' to 'get some education.'
His post read: Best way to silence the haters (yeah I mean racists)' followed by a monkey covering its ears and yawning emojis.
He added the hashtags #2019 and #getsomeeducation alongside the picture of his celebration.
A Montenegro FA spokesman told reporters that there was no racist abuse during the game but Three Lions boss Southgate said: "I know what I heard."
