Man City 'willing to pay Antoine Griezmann release clause' and more transfer rumours

Man City are 'willing to pay Antoine Griezmann release clause' this summer, according to reports.

After only making one signing in the last year, it's anticipated that Pep Guardiola will splash the cash this summer in order to reinforce his City squad ahead of next season's Champions League campaign.

City have been linked with numerous attackers already, including Portuguese pair Bruno Fernandes and Joao Felix, and are now being linked to World Cup winner Griezmann after his shock announcement.

The attacker revealed that he is leaving Atletico Madrid after five years this summer.

"After speaking with Cholo (manager Diego Simeone), then with Miguel Angel and the people in the hierarchy of the club I wanted to speak with you, the fans, who have always given me a lot of love," the 28-year-old said.

According to the report City boss Pep Guardiola has already 'let him know' that City 'would be willing to pay' the fee, though they will reportedly face competition from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, City have 'asked about' Charlton Atletic midfielder Joe Aribo, according to the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is also said to have 'attracted interest' from Arsenal.
