Manchester City sailed into a 5-0 lead within just 18 minutes against Watford, but one player suffered more humiliation than anyone else for the Hornets.
French right-back Dimitri Foulquier was making his Watford and Premier League debut, having been at the club for more than two years.
Finally given an opportunity, Foulquier’s debut was a disaster, and he was substituted after only 32 minutes following his part in a shambolic Watford display.
Despite the onslaught from the champions, Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores removed the 26-year-old and replaced him with Roberto Pereyra, an attacking midfielder.
Foulquier will hope for a second chance in the near future, perhaps against a team that doesn’t boast Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne.
If that is the last we see of the Frenchman, he will join the infamous Ali Dia in the top-flight’s 32-minute club.
