Man City vs Tottenham prediction: Raheem Sterling can ease past Spurs defence

Manchester City have the chance to show their superior class in the Carabao Cup at Wembley this weekend against Tottenham Hotspur.

City are the favourites to lift the Carabao Cup for the fourth successive season at 9/20 with Betfred while Spurs are the outsiders at 5/1 while a draw is 10/3.

Pep Guardiola is yet to be knocked out in the competition since joining the blue half of Manchester which bodes well when he plays against a Tottenham Hotspur side who recently sacked Jose Mourinho and replaced him with the inexperienced Ryan Mason.

The 29-year-old coach may have a positive attacking approach to the game as indicated against Southampton but the lack of inexperience will play a big part in this weekend's final.

Tips

  • Man City to win and both teams to score - 11/5
  • Raheem Sterling to score anytime - 9/5
  • Gareth Bale to score anytime - 13/5

City's attack needs addressing in the long-term with Sergio Aguero leaving and Gabriel Jesus underperforming.

However, Raheem Sterling has been involved in 12 goals in 18 games against Tottenham throughout his career so it is worth thinking about backing the forward at 9/5.

Meanwhile, Mason will be relying on experience from his players on this one - a cup final in your second game in management ever is a big ask to say the least.

However, only one man can do the job for Spurs and that is Gareth Bale.

The winger has defined Copa Del Rey and Champions League finals at Real Madrid which will be huge for Tottenham as they look to secure their first trophy since 2008.

He is priced at 13/5 to score anytime.
