Manchester City travel to Budapest this evening to face Borussia Monchengladbach as the opponents’ last-16 tie in the Champions League comes to a head.
The reverse fixture, also staged in the Puskas Arena, was won 2-0 by City after goals from Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus.
Regardless of those ‘away’ goals, Gladbach must score twice to take the tie to extra-time tonight and keep their hopes of a place in the last eight alive.

The Bundesliga club may struggle to do that against Pep Guardiola’s in-form side, though, with City having responded well last week after rivals United ended their long winning run; the Premier League leaders thrashed Southampton 5-2 before seeing off Fulham 3-0 to give themselves a handy helping of momentum ahead of this evening’s meeting. Gladbach, meanwhile, have lost their last six fixtures across all competitions.
