First-half goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were enough for Manchester United to secure a thrilling 2-1 derby win over Premier League champions Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.
Rashford won and scored a penalty before Martial added a deserved second to send Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United into half-time in full control.
Pep Guardiola's champions tried to rally after the break but United were equal to much of what they had to offer - and though Nicolas Otamendi scored a header late on to make it a nervy finish, the Red Devils saw out the result to seriously damage City's title hopes.
However, the result was marred by allegations of racist abuse: Man City are investigating after video footage emerged showing one supporter appearing to make a monkey gesture towards United players.
