Manchester City vs Leicester City
Premier League 2018-19
Venue: Etihad Stadium
Date: Monday May 6, 2019
Kick-off: 8pm BST
Manchester City hope to take one step closer to retaining their Premier League crown when they take on Leicester on Monday night.
Title rivals Liverpool are in action against Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United on Saturday evening – where anything but a win could effectively hand City the title.
Another former Liverpool boss in Brendan Rodgers could also have a say in the title race; with Leicester finishing the season in style under their newly-appointed manager.
But City head into the fixture knowing two more wins will see off Liverpool’s challenge and leave them on course for a domestic treble.
Manchester City vs Leicester team news and predicted line-ups
Manchester City are again without playmaker Kevin De Bruyne for Monday's Premier League clash with Leicester at the Etihad Stadium.
The Belgium international has missed the champions' last two games with a hamstring problem.
Midfielder Fernandinho (knee) is a doubt after missing Sunday's victory at Burnley. Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo (Achilles) is still out.
Provisional squad: Ederson, Muric, Walker, Danilo, Stones, Otamendi, Laporte, Kompany, Mendy, Delph, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Gundogan, D Silva, B Silva, Sterling, Sane, Foden, Mahrez, Aguero, Jesus.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has no fresh injuries for the trip to Manchester City.
Only Daniel Amartey (broken ankle) and Matty James (lack of match fitness) are unavailable for Monday's game at the Etihad.
Hamza Choudhury could start again after impressing in Sunday's 3-0 win at Arsenal before he was charged with misconduct by the Football Association following historic social media posts.
Provisional squad: Schmeichel, Ward, Jakupovic, Simpson, Chilwell, Morgan, Evans, Maguire, Pereira, Soyuncu, Fuchs, Maddison, Gray, Tielemans, Mendy, Ndidi, Choudhury, Ghezzal, Iheanacho, Barnes, Okazaki, Vardy.
Score prediction: Manchester City 1-0 Leicester
It could be a nervy night at the Etihad, especially if Liverpool do what is expected of them against Newcastle on Saturday.
This will be a City side relatively well rested and hugely motivated, however.
