Check out our 15/2 and 21/4 Manchester City vs Everton predictions below:
As is the case most weeks, you won't get rich backing Manchester City to beat Everton on Sunday afternoon.
City are 1/7 with Grosvenor Sport, making them too short for most punters to even consider as an acca option, while Everton are 17/1 to cause what would have to be considered an upset.
City have won the last eight meetings between these sides and Pep Guardiola's side put five past the Toffees in this fixture last term, so the signs aren't particularly promising for the visitors this weekend.
So, do Everton have any hope or this is this — as the odds imply — a done and dusted home banker?
There is no doubt that Everton have been going through a sticky patch. They have won just one of their last eight games in all competitions (Norwich at home), losing three of the last four and creating very little in a dull 0-0 draw with Tottenham.
The absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin is really affecting their ability to cause opposition defences problems and they are also likely to be without the influential Abdoulaye Doucoure for the Etihad trip.
City have the best defensive unit in the division and they hadn't conceded a single goal at the Etihad until Crystal Palace turned up before the international break. However, Palace possess a much greater attacking threat than Everton, who are going to struggle to break down a City outfit that barely got out of second gear in the 2-0 win at Old Trafford before the break.
Manchester City vs Everton Prediction
It really is a struggle to see anything other than a routine home win for Manchester City but we're obviously not going to be backing the hosts at 1/7.
Given City have kept clean sheets in four of their five home Premier League games, the City to win to nil option at 7/10 is much more appealing. However, City haven't been blowing teams away at the Etihad, indeed they have failed to find the net in two of their last three home league games, the other being a 2-0 win over Burnley.
With that in mind, the best way into this from a betting perspective is to back City to win 1-0 and 2-0 at 15/2 and 21/4 respectively.
Recommended bet: City 1-0 (15/2) and 2-0 (21/4)
