A second-half brace from Erling Haaland extended Manchester City’s unbeaten run to eight games across all competitions as Pep Guardiola’s men saw off Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Despite missing their midfield metronome Rodri through injury, City named a strong matchday squad as Omar Marmoush, Rayan Cherki and Mateo Kovacic returned to the fold. After being frustrated by their visitors for the best part of an hour, the Sky Blues turned to a hitherto isolated Haaland for answers and the Norwegian frontman fired in a powerful header to break the deadlock after being picked out by a well-weighted cross from left-back Nico O’Reilly.
City’s in-form striker then doubled his tally five minutes later from a Savinho cut-back, securing all three points against a Toffees side who had a few chances of their own but missed the creativity of loanee Jack Grealish, who was ineligible to face his parent club. Report: Haaland double downs Everton, sends City top of Premier League
17:47 , Alex DakersErling Haaland continued his blistering start to the season as his quickfire second-half double propelled Manchester City to a 2-0 win over Everton.
The prolific Norwegian took his tally for the campaign to a staggering 23 goals in just 13 appearances for club and country with a decisive intervention in a tight Premier League contest at the Etihad Stadium.
Haaland broke the deadlock with a powerful header on 58 minutes before following up with a well-taken strike five minutes later.
Prior to that City had found Everton stubborn at the back with England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, who signed a new contract this week, maintaining his fine recent form.
The visitors, although missing the dynamism of on-loan City player Jack Grealish, were also a threat on occasions at the other end.
Haaland had been having a relatively quiet game but his clinical finishes either side of the hour mark again showed why defences can never rest easy in the 25-year-old’s presence.
FT: Man City 2-0 Everton
16:57 , Alex DakersAnd he won’t get any more chances today!
Haaland will have to settle for two goals this time, but they’re his 10th and 11th of the Premier League campaign and send City top of the table.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:56 , Alex Dakers96mins: At risk of sounding like a broken record, Erling Haaland has gone close again.
He’s up against Pickford again following a lovely through ball from Rayan Cherki but the Everton goalie wins the contest once more.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:54 , Alex Dakers94mins: Haaland is then through on goal AGAIN and drags the ball around the onrushing Pickford this time, but ends up with too tight an angle from the left hand side of the box and his eventual shot - or cross - goes out of play.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:52 , Alex Dakers90+2mins: He nearly gets his third, Haaland!
The City frontman is through on goal but shows a rare glimpse of indecisiveness with Jordan Pickford bearing down on him.
Everton’s defenders scramble back and the chance is smothered.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:50 , Alex Dakers90mins: The clock has ticked over 90 minutes now, and we’ll see at least seven more added on.
Plenty of time, Erling! You too, Everton.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:49 , Alex Dakers89mins: One player still on the pitch is Erling Haaland.
Searching for his 12th Manchester City hat-trick, no doubt!
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:47 , Alex Dakers86mins: David Moyes responds to Pep Guardiola’s latest chess move by sending on Tyler Dibling and Dwight McNeil for Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:45 , Alex Dakers85mins: A raft of changes sees Rico Lewis replace Nico O’Reilly, Rayan Cherki make his long-awaited return from injury, coming on for Nico Gonzalez, and Mateo Kovacic make his first appearance of the season after recovering from an Achilles issue.
The Croatian comes in for Savinho, who was a real threat for City today and was deserving of his assist for Haaland’s second goal.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:44 , Alex Dakers84mins: City have 16 points with a goal difference of 11, equal to the Gunners who have a game in hand.
Liverpool are on 15 points, equal to Bournemouth who are currently drawing against Crystal Palace after letting a two-goal lead slip.
Spurs, meanwhile, have 14 points.
As I got all that down, Everton had a corner and Erling Haaland elicited a little tussle with James Tarkowski in the box. He’s spoken to by the referee but not shown a yellow card on this occasion.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:41 , Alex Dakers81mins: Nico O’Reilly is down receiving treatment momentarily, with Rico Lewis getting ready to come on and see this one out.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:39 , Alex Dakers80mins: 10 minutes plus stoppages to go at the Etihad.
If this result stands, Manchester City go top of the Premier League table.
Arsenal (facing Fulham tonight), Liverpool (against Manchester United tomorrow) and Tottenham (against Aston Villa tomorrow) could all usurp them with wins of their own, though.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:35 , Alex Dakers74mins: Another change for Everton sees summer signing Thierno Barry replace Beto up front.
Not the latter’s best day - he’ll be ruing the couple of early chances he missed in the first half.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:32 , Alex Dakers73mins: Between those two Haaland goals, City’s Tijjani Reijnders and Jeremy Doku were replaced by Bernardo Silva and Oscar Bobb.
And a few minutea after going two down, Everton manager David Moyes reacted by chucking on Merlin Rohl and Tim Iroegbunam for Idriss Gueye and Charly Alcaraz.
Iliman Ndiaye has subsequently switched onto the left flank, where the Toffees will probably be wishing they had the creativity of Jack Grealish - up in the Etihad stands due to being ineligible to face his parent club - right about now.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:29 , Alex Dakers69mins: Phil Foden cuts across goal on the edge of the box but doesn’t quite catch his effort cleanly enough and it soars over the crossbar.
Man City 2-0 Everton
16:27 , Alex Dakers68mins: Just five minutes and change separated those two Erling Haaland goals, his 10th and 11th of the season in the Premier League alone.
A goal-scoring machine.
GOAL! Man City 2-0 Everton
16:22 , Alex Dakers63mins: Two for City, and it’s two for Haaland!
Phil Foden does well to find Savinho, whose cut-back is knocked in first-time by the Norwegian’s right boot via a slight deflection off James Tarkowski.

Man City 1-0 Everton
16:21 , Alex Dakers62mins: Quick checks for a possible handball and penalty against City are complete and Everton take a corner, which is cleared out to the halfway line and out of play.
What can the Toffees do to find a way back into this match now?
GOAL! Man City 1-0 Everton
16:17 , Alex Dakers58mins: There it is! When City need a goal, Erling Haaland steps up.
His 10th in the Premier League this season.
Nico O’Reilly is in space on the left wing and floats a well-weighted ball into the box, which Haaland rises to meet before firing home a powerful header.
Man City 0-0 Everton
16:15 , Alex Dakers55mins: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall wins a foul off Jeremy Doku.
It’s played short and then long to the right flank, but City clear it.
Man City 0-0 Everton
16:09 , Alex Dakers50mins: Everton seeing a little more of the ball now, but yet to trouble Gianluigi Donnarumma since the start of the second half.
If the visitors are to get something this game, there’s a decent chance Iliman Ndiaye will be involved.

Man City 0-0 Everton
16:07 , Alex Dakers48mins: This second period has begun in a similar manner to the first, with some slow build-up play but no real energy from either side.
A little lethargic upon their return from international duty, but you get a sense this one might not end goalless after some of the chances we saw in the opening 45 minutes.
Man City 0-0 Everton
16:05 , Alex Dakers47mins: No subs made by either manager yet.
Will it be Pep Guardiola or David Moyes that blinks first?
Second half begins
16:04 , Alex Dakers46mins: Back underway at the Etihad.
Play about to resume
16:04 , Alex DakersBoth sets of players are coming back onto the pitch at the Etihad, meaning the second half is just moments away!
HT: Man City 0-0 Everton
15:49 , Alex DakersAnd that brings the first half to a close!
We’ll be back shortly. Who will be the happier of these two men at the interval?

Man City 0-0 Everton
15:49 , Alex Dakers45+2mins: Savinho weasles his way into Everton’s box from the right and lashes a shot at goal, which Jordan Pickford stops.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:47 , Alex Dakers45mins: Another City corner - how many is that now, anyone counting?! - is delivered by Foden, but Nathan Ake can’t place his header on target and it bounces wide to the right of the goal.
Two minutes added on in a relatively scrappy first half.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:44 , Alex Dakers42mins: Donnarumma punches Dewsbury-Hall’s delivery clear, but Everton win possession back in the attacking half.
Only briefly, though, as Haaland nicks the ball and starts a City counter.
The Norwegian plays it left to Tijjani Reijnders, who plays it left again to Jeremy Doku, but the Belgian winger’s effort is saved and Everton then boot it out for a corner, which the hosts create nothing of note from.

Man City 0-0 Everton
15:42 , Alex Dakers41mins: Gueye and Ndiaye are then at the centre of another Everton foray forward.
The former has a chance that rebounds back out for the latter, who tries his luck from distance and forces a good save from Giaunluigi Donnarumma to win Everton their first corner of the afternoon.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to take.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:40 , Alex Dakers40mins: Idrissa Gueye tries a long ball out to the right for Iliman Ndiaye but puts too much on it, and the Everton attacker can only chase it out of play.
We’re then called back as referee Tony Harrington takes James Garner’s name for a late challenge.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:38 , Alex Dakers38mins: A quieter spell again now as City work the ball back to Gianluigi Donnarumma before sending it up the left flank through Jeremy Doku.
Nothing comes of that attack though and Everton carry it away.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:35 , Alex Dakers34mins: Savinho wins City another corner, which Phil Foden takes.
It’s one of his better deliveries but Jordan Pickford darts off his line to claim it.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:33 , Alex Dakers32mins: But just like that, the visitors have a chance for an opener!
It would have been offside anyway - although it was tight, and VAR would have had a look - as Iliman Ndiaye plays through Beto but the Everton striker drags his effort across goal.

Man City 0-0 Everton
15:32 , Alex Dakers31mins: Good, quick passing from Man City and Jeremy Doku cuts the ball back into the box where Tijjani Reijnders hits it first time - but it’s deflected out for another corner.
That one comes to nothing, and Everton continue to hang on. The Toffees have been pinned back in their own half for large portions of this own half.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:29 , Alex Dakers28mins: City try to find Reijnders with a ball into the box, but it’s loose and Jordan Pickford is there to hoof it clear.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:28 , Alex Dakers27mins: Another corner from Foden can’t clear the first line of Everton’s defence, and the ball is worked back to the halfway line.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:25 , Alex Dakers25mins: A Phil Foden corner finds Erling Haaland, whose effort - not the cleanest - clatters against the cross bar!
That came after another darting run from Savinho, with Mykolenko forced into a tackle on the Brazilian.
— Manchester City (@ManCity) October 18, 2025
On reflection, it may have been Everton defender Jake O’Brien, under pressure from Haaland, who knocked that one onto his own bar.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:22 , Alex Dakers21mins: City boasting about two thirds of possession in these opening stages.
Not much new there!
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:19 , Alex Dakers15mins: The hosts are back on the offensive, first through Savinho who causes Jordan Pickford little trouble with a relatively weak effort.
Then Matheus Nunes has a go, but fires wide.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:16 , Alex Dakers13mins: City have been gaining control of this match, with Savinho testing Everton’s backline with a cross to the backpost a few moments ago before Nico O’Reilly dragged an effort from distance wide.
But then the Toffees go close as Ndiaye beats O’Reilly down the right wing and pulls a low ball back across the box, which Beto can’t quite get to.

Man City 0-0 Everton
15:11 , Alex Dakers8mins: Up the other end, City win a corner but it’s headed clear.
Matheus Nunes, starting at right-back today, is there to snuff out any danger of an Everton counter attack.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:09 , Alex Dakers7mins: Iliman Ndiaye floats a dangerous cross into the Man City box but Erling Haaland is there to head clear.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:05 , Alex Dakers2mins: Dewsbury-Hall is fine to continue and play resumes with a drop ball which Man City collect.
Nothing else of note to report - yet - as the two teams feel each other out.
Man City 0-0 Everton
15:03 , Alex Dakers1mins: Everton’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is down and receiving some treatment.
Kick-off: Man City 0-0 Everton
15:01 , Alex DakersWe are underway at the Etihad Stadium!
Teams out on the pitch
14:57 , Alex DakersBoth teams are being welcomed out onto the Etihad pitch now.
Five minutes until kick-off!
14:55 , Alex DakersWe’re fast approaching kick-off at the Etihad.
A reminder that Manchester City could go top of the Premier League with a win here, at least until the outcomes of Arsenal’s match against Fulham (tonight) and Liverpool’s showdown with Manchester United (tomorrow) are decided.
But Everton, who are just two points behind their hosts, could leapfrog City in the standings if they emerge victorious.
BREAKING: Ange out at Forest after Chelsea loss
14:50 , Alex DakersElsewhere in the Premier League today, Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 home loss against Chelsea in the early kick-off has led to Ange Postecoglou being sacked with immediate effect.
The Aussie head coach failed to win any of his eight games in charge after taking over from Nuno Espirito Santo.
It comes just a day after Postecoglou said in a passionate pre-match press conference that he deserves more time.

Warming up
14:44 , Alex DakersBoth sides have been out warming up on the Etihad pitch, with kick-off just over a quarter of an hour away.

Moyes: 'We've had great results without Grealish'
14:36 , Alex DakersAnd some more Moyes lines, this time on Man City loanee Jack Grealish - and whether his side will miss the Englishman today...
“We got some really good results last year when Jack wasn’t here,” the Scot said.
“In fact, we had some great results away from home – probably some of the best results we could’ve hoped for. So, we’re hoping we can do the same today.
“Jack’s made a great difference to us in other ways, but let’s hope, away from home, we can find a way of getting a result.”

Moyes on starting Beto over Barry
14:33 , Alex DakersDavid Moyes has discussed his decision to start Beto up front over summer signing Thierno Barry.
"I thought [Beto] did well when he came on against Crystal Palace,” the Everton boss said. “Probably should’ve scored the goal which Jack [Grealish] scored.
“We’ve chopped and changed between Beto and Barry. We just feel that maybe [Beto’s] little bit more experience in the Premier League was more suitable today."
Marmoush to make an impact off the bench?
14:31 , Alex DakersAs we’ve mentioned, Omar Marmoush has made today’s matchday squad after dealing with a knee injury since August.
The Egypt international had a decent second half of the campaign last season after joining City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January, registering nine direct goal involvements (seven goals, two assists) in 16 Premier League appearances.
He got an assist in City’s loss to Brighton a few months ago before picking up that knock, but is still looking for his first goal of the campaign.
Will he get it from the bench today?
It's great to have you back, @OmarMarmoush 👋 pic.twitter.com/8xzUEAhUqm

City fans still showing Grealish some love
14:25 , Alex DakersSome Man City flags featuring Jack Grealish on sale outside the Etihad Stadium today.
City’s £100 million club record signing is spending the season on loan at Everton, where Pep Guardiola this week hailed him as having had a “massive impact” so far.
Grealish won’t be playing today due to the terms of his loan deal, of course.

Ndiaye and Haaland's contrasting fortunes
14:20 , Alex DakersEverton are playing up their most recent goal-scorer at the Etihad ahead of kick-off.
Iliman Ndiaye provided the equaliser as the Toffees salvaged a 1-1 draw here last December, on a day when Erling Haaland suffered a rare penalty miss when Jordan Pickford saved his effort from 12 yards.
Ndiaye will fancy a repeat of that day, if it means he’s on the score sheet to nab his side a point (or more) this afternoon. Haaland less so, I’d imagine!

Three Everton changes: Alcaraz, KDH, Beto in for Grealish, Dibling, Barry
14:13 , Alex DakersThere are also three changes to be discussed by Everton manager David Moyes. They are:
Carlos Alcaraz in for Jack Grealish
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in for Tyler Dibling
Beto in for Thierno Barry
The on-loan Grealish, as we’ve discussed, is ineligible today against his parent club.
There were thoughts that Tyler Dibling might therefore keep his place in the XI, having made just one Premier League start (in the win over Crystal Palace last time out) since his arrival from Southampton this summer.
But the teenager drops back to the bench as Carlos Alcaraz takes Grealish’s spot instead.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is back into the starting lineup as well after serving a one-match suspension, and up front Moyes has gone for Beto instead of Thierno Barry, who is yet to score for the Toffees since his summer move from Villarreal.
Three City changes: Gonzalez, Ake, Doku in for Rodri, Gvardiol, Bobb
14:09 , Alex DakersThe three Man City changes from the win over Brentford two weeks ago are:
Nico Gonzalez in for Rodri
Nathan Ake in for Josko Gvardiol
Jeremy Doku in for Oscar Bobb
With Omar Marmoush, Rayan Cherki and Mateo Kovacic all returning from injury, that’s a pretty strong susbsitutes bench the hosts have today.
Rayan Ait-Nouri was back in training alongside Marmoush this week, but evidently is a little further behind in his recovery; Nico O’Reilly starts at left-back in his continued absence.

Man City legend 'claims' to be in running to replace Ruben Amorim
13:47 , Alex DakersIn semi-related news to today’s match, former Man City manager Roberto Mancini has reportedly claimed he is in the frame to replace Ruben Amorim as Manchester United boss.
Mancini, a City legend after leading the club to their first Premier League title in 44 years back in 2012, is currently a free agent after leaving his role with Saudi Arabia a year ago.

However, according to reports, the former Italy national team manager - who led the Azzurri to victory over England in the Euro 2020 final - believes he could be in with a shout to become the next Man Utd boss.
That is, of course, if the Red Devils decide to part company with Amorim. Though such a scenario looks highly unlikely following a public show of faith in the Portuguese tactician by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is a co-owner at the club.
City's alternative attacking options: Reijnders and Foden
13:33 , Alex DakersDiving into Man City’s stats, there’s a clear frontrunner when it comes to goal threat: Erling Haaland, of course.
City’s main man has had a staggering 29 shots, 28 of them from within the penalty box; both tallies are 10 more than any other Premier League player, seven games in.
14 of those have been classes by Opta statisticians as ‘big chances’ and 14 have been on target, so it’s little surprise that he’s found the back of the net nine times already!
Haaland aside, summer signing Tijjani Reijnders has fired off the most shots for City in the league this season, managing 14 of them (seven from inside the box). The Dutch midfielder has only scored once, in the season-opening win over Wolves, but has two assists to his name including one versus Arsenal.
Reijnders - who has started every Premier League match since his arrival at the Etihad - was also on target for his country over the international break.
A central midfielder by trade, he typically doesn’t start matches too close to the goalmouth but loves to dart forward when his team are on the attack.

There also, of course, is Phil Foden.
The England international failed to start the first three league matches of the campaign but exploded into life against Manchester United on matchday four.
Foden scored that day and has nine shots in total, putting a third of them on target including one against Brentford last time out. He also has another goal and two assists to his name between the Carabao Cup and Champions League.

Where else is Everton's goal threat coming from?
13:26 , Alex DakersNeither Grealish nor Dewsbury-Hall are Everton’s biggest direct goal threats, though.
Instead it is Iliman Ndiaye who leads Moyes’s men for Premier League goals (3) at the moment.

The Senegalese winger scored his third of the campaign from the penalty spot last time out, although he has had only six total shots (with five of them being on target).
Centre-back Michael Keane - a significant aerial threat from set pieces - has had eight attempts on goal, meanwhile, although he’s a doubt for today after picking up a knock against Crystal Palace two weeks ago.
The man who assisted Keane’s sole goal of the season so far, however, should be available. That’s James Garner, who shares set-piece duties with Dewsbury-Hall and actually leads Everton for total shots so far (12). He too has scored once, equal with centre forward Beto and fellow midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
KDH to fill creative void in Grealish's absence?
13:20 , Alex DakersThe creativity of Man City loanee Jack Grealish - supplier of four Premier League assists already this season - is likely to be sorely missed by Everton today, but David Moyes will be glad to welcome back Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Having served a one-match suspension for accumulating five yellow cards, the ex-Chelsea midfielder is back in contention for today’s trip to the Etihad.
And while Grealish leads the Toffees for chances created (17) this season, Dewsbury-Hall isn’t far behind, having crafted 13 chances - and an equal number of Opta-defined ‘big chances’ (3) for his teammates in one less appearance (six versus seven).
Both men are in the Prem’s top six chance creators to this point.

Can Everton - or anyone - stop Haaland?
13:15 , Alex DakersYou’d have to have been living under a rock for the past few years to not realise that Erling Haaland is pretty good at scoring goals.
And with nine in seven Premier League matches so far this season, the Norwegian frontman has built a comfortable lead in the Golden Boot race already.
He’s got four in four appearances (three of them in home games) against today’s opponents Everton, but missed the most recent meeting between these two sides in April thanks to an ankle injury - it was Nico O’Reilly and Mateo Kovacic who got the job done that day.
With another three goals in the Champions League in the current campaign plus 10 more for his country in the last two international breaks, this is not the kind of form you want Haaland to be in as a defender coming up against him...

Moyes reflects on West Ham tenure, hints at retiring with Everton
13:11 , Alex DakersElsewhere in Everton news over the break, David Moyes reflected on his time at the helm of West Ham and suggested the Toffees gig would be his last in football management.
The Scot believes he did not get the recognition he deserved during his time with the Hammers, and admitted he did not expect to return to management after leaving the London Stadium in 2024.
Moyes guided West Ham to the Conference League in 2023 with a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina in Prague - their first major trophy in 43 years.
However, just a year later, he was sacked after failing to qualify for Europe, having finished ninth in the Premier League.
Moyes insists he enjoyed his time at West Ham and got on “really well” with the club’s board, but said his achievements were perhaps not appreciated as much as they should have been.
And the 62-year-old coach admitted he considered retiring after leaving West Ham, adding that he is not likely to take on another job after Everton.
“I would probably say yes (Everton is my last job), but you never know how football goes. I actually thought West Ham was my last job, and also because I won a trophy, but I tell you what, I got a bug for maybe doing it again,” Moyes continued.

Pickford commits future to Everton with new contract
13:06 , Alex DakersSince then, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has extended his stay at Everton, signing a new contract until 2029.
The England No1 joined the Merseyside club eight years ago from Sunderland, for a British record fee for a goalkeeper. That deal was worth £30 million.
This week, the 31-year-old committed his future to the Toffees, with his initial contract due to expire in 2027.
Putting pen to paper on his new deal over the international break, Pickford said he hopes to “build a legacy” at Everton.

Man City vs Everton match odds

Draw: 7/2
Odds via Betfair (subject to change).
Last time out... Grealish strikes late to snap Palace's streak
12:51 , Alex DakersTwo weeks ago... a first Everton goal for Jack Grealish - who the visitors must do without today as they face his parent club - snatched a 2-1 victory in added time to end Crystal Palace's 19-game unbeaten run.
The on-loan Manchester City winger knew little about it as the Eagles' goalscorer Daniel Munoz's clearance rebounded off him into the net but he happily claimed it, after manager David Moyes had called on him to produce more of a threat in front of goal.
That threat had been absent from the whole team for the majority of the game until Maxence Lacroix needlessly gave away a penalty which allowed Iliman Ndiaye to equalise 14 minutes from time.
And when goalkeeper Dean Henderson could only block Beto's header in the third minute of stoppage time, Grealish was in the right place at the right time to get his body in the way to maximum effect.

Man City vs Everton head-to-head history
12:50 , Alex DakersYou have to go all the way back to January 2017 for the last time Everton beat City in any competition, and December 2010 for the Toffees’ last victory at the Etihad.
That said, the Merseyside outfit have earned a point on two of their previous three visits, including last season when Jordan Pickford saved a penalty from Erling Haaland.
Man City wins: 82
Everton wins: 68
Draws: 49
Last time out... Haaland fires City to narrow win over Brentford
12:46 , Alex DakersTwo weeks ago... Erling Haaland ticked the Gtech Stadium off his to-do list by firing Manchester City to a 1-0 win at Brentford.
The Bees' ground down by the River Thames was one of only two Premier League venues Haaland had not previously scored at, but he put that to rights with a trademark strike.

Just eight minutes had elapsed when the Norwegian striker raced on to a ball over the top from Josko Gvardiol.
Haaland bulldozed his way between Bees defenders Sepp van den Berg and Nathan Collins before lashing his shot past Caoimhin Kelleher.

That proved to be the only goal of a match otherwise dominated by City but with no further reward, and an afternoon soured by the loss of Rodri to a latest injury setback.

Man City vs Everton prediction
12:45 , Alex DakersMan City have been going under the radar ever so quietly since the last international break, winning five of seven games across all competitions.
Everton were rather fortunate against Crystal Palace before the break and they can expect to be punished by an in-form Haaland if they offer up similar chances.
The absence of Jack Grealish will also take away a lot of their attacking thrust so we expect City to comfortably claim all three points here.
Standard Sport’s prediction: Man City to win, 2-0.
Everton early team news: Grealish ineligible, KDH back
12:41 , Alex DakersPremier League rules stipulate that in-form Everton loanee Jack Grealish cannot feature against his parent club.
Tyler Dibling is an option to replace Grealish in a move that would see Iliman Ndiaye switch over to the left wing, or Dwight McNeil could be handed a rare Premier League start.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is available again after suspension, while Jarrad Branthwaite and Merlin Rohl are back in training. Michael Keane and Nathan Patterson are doubts.

Man City early team news: Rodri ruled out
12:38 , Alex DakersPep Guardiola was handed a massive boost at the start of the week as Norway released Erling Haaland from international duty earlier than expected.
The striker, who netted a hat-trick against Israel, should be fresh as he bid to continue his superb start to the season and bolster his bid to claim yet another Golden Boot award.
City are without Rodri due to a hamstring injury, though Mateo Kovacic could be back and Omar Marmoush and Rayan Ait-Nouri are both believed to be close to returning after training this week. Abdukodir Khusanov is still out.
