Man City vs Crystal Palace betting preview: Kevin De Bruyne to score first as City continue impressive form

An outstanding and sensational performance from Manchester City away from last season saw the champions get back in the top 2.

Leicester City has surprised everyone by breaking into the top four and are now third after suffering a shock home defeat against Southampton last weekend.

But that will not be enough for Pep Guardiola as he looks at the Premier League - 14 points adrift and leaders Liverpool have a game in hand.

This time last season they were just four points behind and the title race went right to the wire.

The Pools caught up with Stuart Brennan ahead of the Crystal Palace match at the Etihad Stadium.

Recommended bets:

  • Both teams to score first and City to win - 9/5
  • Kevin De Bruyne to score first - 5/1

Win, lose or draw?

Win ( 1/12 ) - City were outstanding last week at Villa Park and will want to keep on going now that they are back in the top 2. They will want to get a win under their belts and hopefully distance themselves from Leicester City.

Who's a good bet for 1st scorer?

Kevin De Bruyne has been unusually quiet on the goals front lately, but is in brilliant form - against a team which will sit deep his shooting from distance could be crucial

Who's on the naughty step? (first card)

For me it will have to be Kyle Walker. Against the pace and trickery of Wilfried Zaha you can expect a foul or two from the full-back whenever he tracks back as Palace attempt a counter-attack.

Who's on pens?

It will likely be Sergio Aguero ( 2/5 anytime) who will take up that responsibility.

Will your team keep a clean sheet?

They rarely do, even when 6-0 up and cruising at Aston Villa. And Palace have players to hurt City so expect them to convert at least one of their opportunities at the weekend ( 13/10 )
