Pep Guardiola offered Benjamin Mendy no guarantees that he would start for Manchester City against Brighton in today's FA Cup semi--final at Wembley.
Fellow left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko was forced off with a hamstring injury during Wednesday's 2-0 win over Cardiff that sent City back to the top of the Premier League, while Fabian Delph is also missing.
Mendy, who has only featured once for the first team since November, is fit but has found himself out of favour - and Guardiola said on Friday that he was close to making a decision.
"Everybody has to help, not just Mendy," Guardiola said. "He has trained the last week, 10 days without problems."
Meanwhile, Sergio Aguero could return after missing that game in the aftermath of a knock sustained at Fulham, but Fabian Delph remains sidelined along with long-term absentee Claudio Bravo.
Solly March and Jurgen Locadia faced late fitness tests for Brighton.
Winger March came off during the first half of Wednesday's 3-0 loss at Chelsea due to a tight calf, while Dutch forward Locadia missed that game as a precaution because of a similar issue.
Midfielder Pascal Gross, who has been unavailable since February 26 with a hamstring injury, will again be absent at Wembley.
