Manchester City vs Brighton
FA Cup semi-final 2018-19
Venue: Wembley
Date: Saturday, 6 April, 2019
Kick-off: 5:30pm GMT
Manchester City can take another step towards claiming an unprecedented quadruple when they meet Brighton in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday.
The League Cup winners and Premier League leaders are heavy favourites to reach the competition showpiece for the first time since 2013 after coming back from two goals down to beat Championship side Swansea in dramatic fashion last month.
Pep Guardiola's dominant side, who are also through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, previously thrashed Rotherham 7-0 before also beating Burnley and fourth-tier Newport.
After wins over Bournemouth, West Brom and Derby, Brighton secured their place in the last four in similarly dramatic fashion.
Chris Hughton's Seagulls, 15th in the league and five points clear of the relegation zone, also overcame a two-goal deficit at Millwall thanks to a late goalkeeper blunder and eventually triumphed on penalties.
Manchester City vs Brighton team news and predicted line-ups
Pep Guardiola has offered no guarantees to the fit-again Benjamin Mendy ahead of the semi-final, despite Oleksandr Zinchenko being forced off with a hamstring injury during Wednesday's 2-0 win over Cardiff that sent City back to the top of the Premier League.
Sergio Aguero could return after missing that game in the aftermath of a knock sustained at Fulham, but Fabian Delph remains sidelined along with long-term absentee Claudio Bravo.
Manchester City XI: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Danilo, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Sterling, Aguero
German midfielder Pascal Gross (hamstring) is the only confirmed Brighton absentee, while Hughton is hopeful that Solly March and Jurgen Locadia (both calf) will be in contention.
Brighton XI: Ryan, Montoya, Duffy, Dunk, Bernardo, Bissouma, Stephens, Propper, Knockaert, Jahanbakhsh, Murray
Score prediction: Manchester City 2-0 Brighton
The odds are firmly stacked against Brighton, who are still nervously looking over their shoulders in the league and will be fancied by very few to stop the City juggernaut.
A one-off tie at a neutral venue may offer some hope of an upset, but it would take a very brave person to back against Guardiola and co reaching another final.
