Man City vs Aston Villa odds: Raheem Sterling back to score first at 3/1

Man City go into the match in joyous mood after their big Champions League win against Atalanta.

It is the perfect result as they go into the weekend to face an Aston Villa side who continue to prove the doubters wrong.

Dean Smith's side have been grinding results after being naively written off by so many before a ball has been kicked this season.

Villa have plenty of influence in Tyrone Mings at the back, Jack Grealish in the middle and the attacking influence of Wesley is just starting to show.

Guardiola will know that his defence - with the help of midfielder Fernandinho - will be tested at the weekend.

They certainly will not need social media influencers to get a crowd going at the Etihad with performances like that.

The Pools spoke to MEN's Simon Bajkowski:

Recommended bets:

  • Raheem Sterling to score first - 3/1
  • Over 3.0 cards - 19/20

Win, lose or draw?

City are clear favourites ( 1/10 ) so expect them to get a result. They'll need to in order to avoid giving Liverpool a chance of extending their lead.

Who's a good bet for 1st scorer?

Raheem Sterling at 3/1 . Nearly always plays and nearly always scores. He scored his first hat-trick in the Champions League so I can see him getting one at the Etihad this weekend.

Who's on the naughty step? (first card)

Fernandinho - the defensive midfielder has been playing centre-back in the last game so if he is called upon again in that role, expect him to give away the odd foul or two.

Expect referee Graham Scott to show more than 3.0 cards too at 19/20 .

Who's on pens?

Who else but Sergio Aguero at 9/4 to score anytime?

Will your team keep a clean sheet?

Villa's recent form would suggest Ederson will not be getting a clean sheet at the end of the match ( 7/10 ).
