Man City v Tottenham score predicted by simulation ahead of Premier League clash

Manchester City return to Premier League action with a clash against Tottenham on Saturday, following a brilliant away performance in the Champions League in midweek.

City remain top of the league by nine points and could make it five wins in a row with a good result against Antonio Conte's side on Saturday. Conte admitted earlier this week that Spurs face a tough task to compete with Manchester City, as he continued to downplay his side's chances.

Pep Guardiola will be able to recall Kyle Walker to the starting line-up after the England international was suspended for the midweek game against Sporting, whilst Jack Grealish and Gabriel Jesus could also return to the matchday squad.

So, what line-ups will both teams select? And, what could the final score be?

We used FIFA 22 to get a score prediction for Man City versus Tottenham on Saturday and this is what happened...

Man City vs Spurs score predicted by simulation

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn't select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Man City could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Silva; Mahrez, Sterling, Foden.

We predict that Spurs could set up in a 5-2-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Lloris; Royal, Romero, Dier, Davies, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Bentancur; Moura, Son, Kane.

City started the game on the front foot but suffered a set back after Kevin De Bruyne picked up an injury early on, forcing the Belgian off after 15 minutes with Ilkay Gundogan replacing him in midfield.

The injury to De Bruyne didn't impact City's performance though, as Bernardo Silva and Gundogan started a nice attack with some good passing play, before the German lofted the ball through towards Sterling in the Spurs' penalty area but he was unable to covert his shot as the ball flew wide of the far post.

Phil Foden started to cause some issues with his movement for the likes of Eric Dier and Ben Davies, with the 21-year-old taking up some nice positions around the edge of the away side's penalty box and trying his luck from range.

And it was Foden who put City 1-0 up on the stroke of half-time with a brilliant bicycle kick, after Sterling had beaten Emerson Royal down the left-wing and lifted the ball towards the near post.

City's pressure and dominance finally paid off as Sterling was able to beat his man and loft the ball towards the near post towards Foden who improvised and pulled off a stunning bicycle kick under pressure from Cristian Romero, as the striker's shot looped over Lloris into the far corner.

Spurs responded to going a goal down in the second half with some pressure of their own, creating chances in dangerous areas of the pitch as City became complacent at the back.

It was this complacency that led to an equaliser for Spurs as Kyle Walker's loose pass was intercepted by Rodrigo Bentancur, the Uruguayan found Harry Kane who then fed the ball through to Heung-Min Son who lashed the ball past Ederson into the top corner to make it 1-1 with five minutes to play.

Kane split the City defence with a clever pass into Son who was able to hold off Laporte and fire the ball into the top right corner past Ederson, leaving Guardiola's side with little time remaining to find a winner.

City pressed for a late winner but were unable to find one as the game ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw after the home side had dominated large periods of the game, but a late defensive error cost saw them drop vital points in the title race.

FIFA 22 predicted final score: Man City 1-1 Spurs

FIFA 22 predicts that City will dominate possession of the ball and control most of the game, taking the lead through a brilliant piece of skill from Foden, but City's hard work could be undone by a defensive error that led to a late equaliser, stunning the Etihad as Guardiola's side drop points in the title race.
